American College for Advancement in Medicine (ACAM) Blog

http://www.acam.org/acamblog – an integrative medicine blog with articles from some of the top naturopaths and physicians in the industry. The site also features a Integrative Health Practitioner Finder.

www.abihm.org – Use their search feature to find a holistic doctor

www.ahha.org – a nonprofit organization whose goal is to serve as an “impartial holistic health resource”

www.ahna.org – a non-profit membership association dedicated to educating nurses and the public on holistic healing practices.

The Bravewell Collaborative

www.bravewell.org – a foundation seeking the advancement of integrative medicine. Their philosophy is “Health is not just the absence of disease; it is a state of physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being.” Their publications explain the components of integrative medicine.

Building Bridges Between Conventional & Complementary Medicine

www.hartfordhealth.org/IntMed/manual/– a manual for starting an Integrative Medicine program from Hartford.

Canadian Interdisciplinary Network for CAM Research (IN-CAM)

www.incamresearch.ca – a Canadian group focused on researching and educating on CAM modalities.  They have an Outcomes Database for professionals www.outcomesdatabase.org.

The Center for Mind-Body Medicine

www.cmbm.org – a nonprofit offering education and advancement of mind-body treatments.

The Chopra Center (Library)

www.chopra.com/library – the “library” section is free after sign up. It provides resources based on the teaching of Deepak Chopra and Ayurveda.

Continuum Center for Health and Healing

www.healthandhealingny.org – an initiative of Beth Israel Medical Center. The health condition section is very helpful.

www.drweil.com – Holistic approach to health and wellness from Dr. Andrew Weil, M.D. *Dr. Weill sells products and the site contains advertisements.

Edgar Cayce’s A.R.E.(Association for Research and Enlightenment)

www.edgarcayce.org/are/holistic-health.aspx – includes a database of therapies that healer Edgar Cayce had recommended.

The Fetzer Institute

www.fetzer.org – “The Fetzer Institute advances love and forgiveness as powerful forces that can transform the human condition.”

www.healthy.net – a broad site with information on many alternative remedies *It also sells products.

Holistic Primary Care

holisticprimarycare.net – an educational site focused on “nutrition, herbal medicine, homeopathy, mind-body therapies, Ayurveda, Acupuncture, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and other healing and self-care systems from around the world.” Although it does accept advertising the editorial of the site is based on research.

Institute for Noetic Sciences

www.noetic.org – a nonprofit focused on “consciousness and healing, extended human capacities, and emerging worldviews.”

Institute of HeartMath

www.heartmath.org – a nonprofit research and education organization dedicated to “helping people reduce stress, self-regulate emotions and build energy and resilience for healthy, happy lives.”

Integrative Medicine Teaching Modules

Life Extension

www.lef.org/protocols – Life Extension is a nutritional supplement company. They provide detailed nutrition protocols on numerous health conditions.  *This is a retail company, but the information is science-based.

www.mercola.com – site from Dr. Joseph Mercola an outspoken advocate for natural medicine. *The site sells numerous products, and many of the doctor’s philosophies are extreme.

National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH)
